In a trail-blazing activity of sorts, two batches of the Middle Managers Class under the Public Management Development Program got together and staged the first PMDP Sportsfest on June 15, 2016.

Some 40 scholars from Batch 11 and 39 from Batch 12 gathered for a day of fun and physical activity in DAP Tagaytay to break the monotony of the scholars largely cerebral endeavors.  Conceived to foster stronger ties, enhance camaraderie and provide a break from their regimented existence, the inter-batch competition consisted of a cheerleading contest and events like hula-hoop relay, touch ball, patintero, basketball and volleyball.

 More proficient

MMC 11, which is named Bagwis, proved to be more proficient in the traditional events by emerging as winners in basketball and volleyball, while MMC 12 Banyuhay showed a sharper edge in the more novel events by prevailing in the hula-hoop relay, touch ball and patintero, reportedly the most intensely-fought game of all.

The sportsfest followed the third re-entry project session of MMC Batch 11 the previous day.  During the session, one-on-one consultations were conducted with Professor Fortunato de la Peña.

 Updates

Eight teams of scholars gave updates on their plans. These are Kilyawan, Kuwago, Loro, Balinsasayaw, Kalapati, Kalaw, Agila and Maya.

Most of the concerns raised during the consultations involved the changing inputs of the 2scholars’ institutional partners to their projects.  Concerns regarding the effects of the transition in administration were also raised.
