The Development Academy of the Philippines, the country’s premier government research and training institution, is now moving into practitioner-oriented certificate courses to complement its longer, degree-granting programs.  One of these courses is “Organization Development: Enhanced Readiness for Tomorrow’s Challenges,” which will make its maiden run from March 27-31, 2017 at the DAP Conference Center in Tagaytay City.

The course is directed and being offered to corporate planners, operations managers, and organization/human resource development officers, particularly those in local government units (LGUs).

The four-day course covers vital topics and processes in organization development, including frameworks for OD/change management and their applications, the parameters for analysis as well as the desired competencies among change planners and implementers – all geared toward installing a well-planned OD initiative.

Unique features

Course organizers consider the course to be unique as it features an experience-based learning approach where theories and principles are illustrated through analyses of actual OD programs that have been implemented and where learning transcends the usual classroom teaching as participants get to learn more from insights drawn from real-life experiences.

Participants will also go through a series of guided OD planning and analysis sessions and dedicated sessions on soft skills, particularly on communication and facilitation.  In the end, participants will be afforded an opportunity to design an OD project along with a communication plan that will support it.

Course objectives

The course aims to increase participants’ capability to plan as well as enhance their preparedness to play a significant role in implementing organizational reform programs, endeavors that would best respond to the current administration’s call for more improved citizen-centric services.

After completing the course, the participants are expected to be able to adopt a more holistic and systems-based orientation in planning and implementing organizational enhancement projects, identify the interventions that are applicable to the issues being addressed, assess if the necessary competencies could be provided internally or by external contractors, and put into practice the knowledge and skills gained from the course.

Interested parties may call Ms. Cynthia Maglaya at telephone number 631-2143.  They should also confirm their attendance not later than March 20, 2017 although payments may be made at the start of the training.  Official receipts will be issued while at DAPCC Tagaytay.
