The Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), through its Productivity and Development Center (PDC), continues to provide technical assistance to the Provincial Government of Sorsogon despite the Enhanced community Quarantine (ECQ) due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. A series of virtual technical guidance sessions on the enhancement of operational controls were provided to the 15 local government units (LGUs) composed of city and municipal governments and 24 barangays, 16 national government agencies (NGAs), 1 high school, and 9 small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The technical guidance sessions, totalling to 32 hours within the period of March to June 2020 is the first ever attempt of the Sorsogon QMS Core Team to utilize online mode of learning. Several virtual group messengers were created to facilitate online communication with the participants. The session participants joined their corresponding meetings either in the confines of their homes or in the vicinities of their offices. Although the sessions were faced by several challenges like unstable/unavailable internet connection and multi-tasking heavy workload related to COVID-19 programs and services, the commitment of the Province still prevailed. By the end of the sessions, the QMS documents were reviewed and finalized, process controls were enhanced and the planning for implementation was facilitated. XXX
