Development Academy of the Philippines – Center for Governance (DAP-CFG)  ran the Third Structured Learning Visit (SLV3) for Lao Government Partners to the Republic of the Philippines on Decentralization, Regional Planning, and Territorial Management for some 15 Lao government officials and Lao PDR-based German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) advisers from  August 2 to 12, 2015.

DAP-CFG arranged a series of learning   visits for the delegates to broaden their knowledge on the legal, institutional, and conceptual  framework of decentralization in the Philippines. In particular, the participants were exposed to the  coordination mechanisms between and among    national government agencies, local government units and non-government organizations along the aspects of development planning, financing, implementation and monitoring.

Through this learning program, the Philippines’ good practices on and the impact of decentralization was showcased in their local and field visits in Manila, Cebu, Bohol and Tagaytay. By the end of the program, the delegates developed and presented their respective re-entry plans to be implemented upon return to their country.
