The Development Academy of the Philippines’ Officer in Charge Magdalena Mendoza expressed elation and joy in her closing remarks during the fellowship night that culminated the week-long observance of the DAP 45th anniversary last June 22 at the DAP Conference Center in Tagaytay City.

“I’m very much overwhelmed with talents the whole day as well as gladness and joy,” Ms. Mendoza said as she acknowledged the participation of the officers and staffers from different parts of the DAP – its offices in Pasig, Tagaytay, and Mindanao.

Ms. Mendoza also acknowledged one of the Academy’s principals, DAP Board Chairperson and Civil Service Commission Chairperson Alicia de la Rosa-Bala, for her continuous support to the DAP and for joining the celebration of its founding anniversary.

OIC Mendoza paid tribute to the founding fathers of the DAP, Dr. Onofre Corpuz and Dr. Leonides Virata, as well as past chairpersons, presidents and colleagues in the Academy, who she said paved the way for the current generation of DAPpers.

“I’m sure they are looking at the new DAP generation, smiling at us elated that the DAPpers of the past and the ones they see today imbibe the same spirit,” she said as she related to this year’s anniversary theme “Dangal, Galing, Tatag.”

“Thank you for showing the best of what we can achieve by being united and thinking of others more than ourselves in the service of the DAP nation,” Ms. Mendoza told more than 600 employees gathered at the auditorium.

In closing, Ms. Mendoza took the opportunity to thank the members of the anniversary committee that made the celebration a success.  – Jeannalla Burns
